Yoga Teacher Training: Five Myths You Need To Know About
Myth: Yoga teacher
training is just another way for people to make money off of others' suffering.
Fact: This
couldn't be further from the truth! Yoga teacher training is an opportunity to
learn more about yourself and your practice so that you can help others do the
same. It's not just about making money; it's about helping people grow and
change for the better.
Myth: I
don't need a yoga teacher training to be a yoga teacher.
Fact:
If you want to teach, you should definitely get one. Yoga teacher trainings can
help you learn the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in
teaching yoga!
Myth: I
need to be super flexible to become a yoga teacher
Fact:
Actually, flexibility isn't a requirement for teaching yoga. You can still be a
great teacher if you're not super flexible, but it does help to have some range
of motion and be able to hold your poses for a few breaths.
Myth:
You have to be vegetarian to become a yoga instructor.
This
one is false as well! Just because many yogis choose not to eat meat doesn't
mean everyone needs to do so in order to practice yoga effectively. If that's
what works best for you personally (or if it's something else entirely), then
go for it! It's all about finding what works best for your lifestyle and body
type rather than trying something new just because someone else told you it was
good for them.
Myth:
Yoga Teacher Training is expensive
