4 Yoga Poses To Try For Beautiful Abs
You've
probably heard that the way to get a great set of abs is to do crunches. But
it's not that simple. You have to do a lot more than just crunches if you want
a truly balanced and toned core.
To get
the most out of your ab workout, we recommend giving these four yoga poses a
try!
Boat Pose ParipurnaNavasana:
This is
a great pose to start with because it helps you get into position for the other
poses. You'll lay flat on your back with your arms at your side, palms facing
up. Lift your knees and feet off the ground, keeping them at hip-width distance
from each other. Lift your hips off the floor as well and hold for 30 seconds
to 1 minute, then lower back down slowly. Do this 10 times for best results!
Bridge Pose Setu Bandha Sarvangasana:
This is
an amazing exercise for strengthening your core and improving your posture. Lie
on your back with your feet flat on the floor and arms at your sides. Raise
your hips until they're in line with your shoulders (or higher if possible).
Then lower them down again slowly until they touch the ground without letting
your back arch too much. Repeat this 10 times before moving on to the next pose
on our list!
Pigeon Pose Kapotasana:
If you
want stronger abs and more defined obliques (the muscles on either side of your
waist), then this is the pose for you! The pigeon pose works wonders for
strengthening those hard-to-reach areas of your body while also stretching out
those tight muscles.
Fish Pose Matsyasana:
This
pose is great for your abs because it strengthens your core, improves breathing
and circulation, and tones your arms.To get into the pose: Lie on your back
with your arms by your sides and palms facing up. Bend your knees and place
them on either side of you with feet resting flat on the floor. Lift up through
the crown of your head until you are balancing on the top of your shoulders and
upper back. Stretch out one leg at a time, crossing them over each other so
that they are perpendicular to the floor. Hold for about 30 seconds, then
switch legs and repeat the pose again for another 30 seconds.
