Yoga seeks to strike a balance between our body and mind and provide calmness and peace. There exist considerable obstructions involving human body, mind and senses and yoga helps in removing those and revitalizes your emotions that pave way for a better living. There are mainly 6 types of Yoga:

  • Bikram yoga

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga is a form of yoga given by Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta. It contains several asanas or postures and other yoga teachings such as vinyasa, drishti, mudras, bandhas, and philosophy.

According to Patanjali internal purification can be achieved by the following 8 spiritual practices:

  • Yama- Moral Codes

  • Asana – posture

  • Pranayama – Controlling of the breadth

  • Niyama- Self-purification & analysis

  • Dharana –  Concentrating

  • Pratyahara – Controlling of senses

  • Dhyana – Meditate

  • Samadhi -  Absorption towards the universe

For perfect asanas and postures in Ashtanga Yoga, the person should incorporate Vinyasa and Tristana. Vinyasa is the breathing and movement of the body parts. There exists one breadth for each movement. Take the case of Surya Namaskara, there are nine vinyasas.
